The Company and The People
Last updated 2025-07-12.
We are a small independent game development company, led by Emil Hedemalm. Emil has been working as an IT consultant for various clients in Stockholm, including some game developers and has been building his own game engine from scratch in C++ and is now currently developing, designing and directing the game Iterum. The Iterum team is composed of a few employees, a few contractors, and we currently have some interns learning and contributing as well.
We are a fully remote team, collaborating with digital tools daily. Formally we are grouped under the company Evergreen IT AB, which is also Emil’s consulting and IT product development company.
The game Iterum has been in development since January 2022, currently 3.5 years in development, with an aim to publish the full game in Q1 2026. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam where there is also a Playtest version of the game, so you can give it a try, and buy it to support us if you like what you see!
Streamers wishing to produce content around Iterum are welcome to contact us regarding giveaways and sponsorships, Discord or LinkedIn preferred.

Iterum – The Game
The vision of the game is based on a blend of other strategy game titles, with some additional simulation aspects added. There is food production and rationing, taxation, happiness, sanitation, temperature, armaments production, diplomacy, prospection and mineral extraction, alongside other features. We also aim to include some historical scenarios, to bring some of the historical events that have left marks on the European landscape and are still visible today, to life.
What do the Players Say?
Playtester 1
Establishing new settlements can be both challenging and rewarding, with balancing the food production and the timing so that they don’t starve or rebel early.
Playtester 2
I want to raise the taxes to max but the villagers get so upset! Why?!
Playtester 3
Clearing The Defender is like playing a souls-like but in a strategy game – you may lose a few times before you get your strategy right.
